Seven area students receive scholarships

MONROE - Dr. George E. Breadon, president of the Green County Medical Society, recently presented $500 scholarships to seven area medical students for the 2014-15 school year.

The recipients are:

• Marissa Young, daughter of Tim and Chris Young, Monroe. A 2007 MHS graduate, Young is a senior at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine;

• Gavin Stormont, son of Dr. Dan and Dr. Annette Stormont, Monroe. A 2006 graduate of MHS, Stormont is a junior at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health;

• Kelsey Duxted-Schmidt, daughter of Robert and Jennifer Duxsted, Monroe. A 2008 MHS graduate, Duxted-Schmidt is a junior at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health;

• Cory Ganshert, son of Tom and Jodi Ganshert, Monroe. A 2005 graduate of MHS, Ganshert is a junior at the Kansas City-Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine;

• John Frey, son of Dr. John and Cathy Frey, Monroe. A 2006 graduate of MHS, Frey is a junior at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences at Kansas;

• Priti Rana, daughter of Dr. Kishor and Bhanumati (Sula) Rana, Monroe. A 2008 graduate of MHS, Rana is a junior at Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM); and

• Cullen Buchanan, son of Dr. David and Julie Buchanan, Monroe. An Appleton HS graduate, Buchanan is a sophomore at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
