MONROE - The American Cancer Society is asking local businesses and organizations to get involved by displaying purple ribbons and other decorations from Sunday through June 27 as part of its annual Paint Our Town Purple event for Relay for Life.
The event is to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and to have fun with the color purple to bring attention to the American Cancer Society's numerous programs and services offered in the community.
The annual Relay For Life of Green County event will be held on June 27 at Brodhead High School.
Teams and individuals walk or run to raise money for research, education, prevention programs and services for cancer patients.
Cancer survivors and caregivers will take the first lap to start the event.
