MTG plans auditions for 'Charlie Brown'

MONROE - Monroe Theatre Guild announces its upcoming auditions for "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Auditions will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3; and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, with callbacks at 4 p.m. Auditions will be at the MTG STAGE building, 910 16th Ave., Monroe. Actors must be 18 or older to audition.

"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" is based on the beloved Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schultz. The musical is an average day in the life of Charlie Brown. Originally written in 1967 by Clark Gesner, the 1999 revised version has additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

Auditioners should come prepared to sing (there will be accompanist available). The production includes a cast of six adults, men and women, and will be directed by David Sorenson.

There will be five performances April 1 to 9, to be held in MTG's newly renovated theater space.
