MONROE — The Monroe Arts Center’s largest fundraiser of the year, “Taste of Spring,” will be held on Monday, May 6 at Monroe’s Historic Turner Hall. This French inspired evening will transport guests to the streets of Paris. Turner Hall’s team will create a French inspired meal using simple ingredients transformed by artful techniques with specialty paired wines and fine beer. Cocktail hour opens the evening at 5 p.m.
The evening will include:
● Live music provided by the band Killer and the Salty Dogs
● A silent and live auction
● Artwork created live by local artists Kathy King, Deb Meyer, and Suzanne Miller
Guests will indulge in an exquisite culinary journey, beginning with classic French onion soup, with caramelized onions, rich broth, and melted Gruyère cheese. The next course will include the savory delight of cheese pie with a creamy filling in a flaky crust. The cheese pie will be paired with a vibrant medley of garden-fresh greens in a vibrant salad. Following will be the pièce de résistance of the meal, with beef bourguignon in a velvety wine-infused sauce atop a bed of creamy garlic mashed potatoes, alongside fresh long green beans. The finale of this inspiring meal will combine the delicate flavors of French macaroons with a fresh fruit tart, concluding a meal that will become a lasting culinary memory. The cuisine will be paired with fine wines and craft beer.
