MTG plans art classes for kids

MONROE - Monroe Theatre Guild has two art classes for children set for Saturday, March 12.

From 9 to 11 a.m., Suzanne Miller will teach "2 Landscapes in 2 hours." Kids will learn wet-on-wet painting techniques to create a warm summer sunset and a cool moonlit night, using acrylic paints on board and on paper. The cost is $15 for MTG members and $18 for non-members.

Miller will also teach "How to Paint Your Dragon" from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. From Chinese to European, dragons come in all shapes and sizes. Kids will learn techniques in drawing with a brush, blending paint and using fun metallic to make scales. The cost is $11 for MTG members and $14 for non-members. The class will also be offered from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 11.
