DARLINGTON — The Memorial Healthcare Foundation Grants and Career Development Committee has selected five recipients for healthcare scholarships in 2018.
These recipients exemplified educational and community requirements. The following received $1,000 awards on July 17.
Jada Hicks, Shullsburg, is currently studying Clinical Laboratory Science at UW-La Crosse. Hicks is the daughter of Tim Hicks and Wendy and Tim Appell of Shullsburg. She is a 2016 graduate of Shullsburg High School and is working at the UW-La Crosse chemistry stockroom and as a chemistry tutor.
Chloe Hinderman, Darlington, is studying nursing at Clarke University in Dubuque. She is the daughter of Al and Julie Hinderman of Darlington. Hinderman is a 2015 graduate of Darlington High School and works as a CNA at Lafayette County Manor.
Thomas Schultz, Darlington, is studying Biomedical Sciences and minoring in chemistry at UW-La Crosse. He is the son of Kerry and Joanne Schultz of Darlington. He is a 2015 graduate of Darlington High School and works at Gundersen Health System as a summer medical research fellow in the Cardiology Department.
Joshua Weaver, Darlington, is studying biology with a pre-medicine emphasis at UW-Platteville. He is the son of Doug and Renee Weaver of Darlington. He is a 2017 graduate of Darlington High School and works at McComish Family Farms and Johnson Lawn Care.
Mariah Wiegel, Darlington, is studying nursing at Clarke University in Dubuque. Wiegel is the daughter of B.J. and Vicki Wiegel of Darlington. She is a 2015 graduate of Darlington High School and is working at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County.
The Memorial Healthcare Foundation’s mission is to support and promote Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington through the endowment of new and existing services, scholarships and capital improvements.
