Awards were presented for longevity of membership, along with a distinguished award of "The Educator of the Year." The recipient of this award was Jan Kash, Monroe. She is the county chairwoman for the Bookworm Project and the outgoing county president of HCE. She will become the secretary of the southwestern district.

New officers elected were Ella Sanders, incoming county president, which will be shared by Beth Campbell and Norma Bader; Kris Winkler will retain the treasurer position; and Mary Ann Stauffacher will remain the county secretary.

Steph Culbertson spoke on "Local Food for You."

The group also discussed the state convention, in which Green County was recognized as being the county with the highest numbers of new members gained in the past year.
