CCC tribute set for Friday at Monroe Public Library

MONROE - The Monroe Public Library will host author, songwriter and filmmaker Bill Jamerson, as he presents "Dollar-a-Day Boys: A Musical Tribute to the Civilian Conservation Corps" at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 in the second-floor program room at the library, 925 16th Ave.

The program will look at the 1930s Federal Works Program that gave employment to 3.5 million men. Jamerson will add stories, songs and a short video to the program.

There is no pre-registration required for the free program. Refreshments will be provided.
