MONROE - The Green County Area Entrepreneur and Inventor Meeting will continue its 2011 year with a series titled "Resources for Business." The second of the series will feature business incubators as exciting opportunity for the Green County area.

The meeting is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, at the First National Bank & Trust's Lower Level Conference Room. The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments are available.

Ed White, Economic Development Program Manager, will speak on the possible building of an incubator in Monroe; what an incubator is; how it is different from renting a regular space; and the other benefits involved with locating in an incubator.

For a new business starting out, the use of business incubator space can help defray start-up costs, allow for a unique networking partnership with other entrepreneurs and allow for shared resources.

White has been a member of the SWWRPC planning team since June of 2008. He served the past 4 years as executive director of the regional incubator in Platteville. He also serves on the Southwest Wisconsin Economic Development Council and has been active with the Grant County Economic Development Corporation.

In addition to the speaker and topic, those attending will have time to introduce themselves and share a little about themselves and their invention, business or business idea. Participants should bring business cards and network with other inventors and entrepreneurs.

The Green County Area Entrepreneurs and Inventors is an informational forum where entrepreneurs, inventors, new businesses and people thinking about starting their own businesses can come together to encourage each other and share challenges and successes. The group meets monthly, usually on the first Monday of the month.

More information about the group is available on the GCDC website www.GreenCountyEDC.com or by contacting GCDC at gcdc@tds.net or (608)328-9452.
