Blue Star Banners are available

MONROE - It's an American tradition to display a Blue Star Banner in the window of a home when a loved one is proudly serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. As Americans support troops deployed overseas in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, the blue Banner is a reminder that war touches every neighborhood.

Anyone with a family member serving in the armed forces who would like a Blue Star banner to display in their window please contact Janet Thompson 325-6558 or Rosie Wenger at 325-6364. They are available to families in the Monroe area.

The American Legion also offers Blue Star Banner Corporate flags to corporations and government organizations wanting to show support to employees actively serving in the National Guard or reserve.
