Feller propels Monroe past Stoughton

MONROE — Sophomore Olivia Feller went 4-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored and two RBIs to lead Monroe to an 11-4 victory over Stoughton on Tuesday, April 11. 

After two runs by each team in the first inning, the Cheesemakers broke the game open with a five-run bottom of the second. Chesney Slotten led off the inning with a single, and Sydnee Conway moved her into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. Monroe then hit five straight singles to score four runs. Katie Witt scored the final run of the inning, as Brinley Roidt reached on an error.

Roidt finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and four RBIs. At leadoff, Kaegann Paulson was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a triple. In the circle, she collected the win. Paulson pitched a complete game, allowing three earned runs on three hits. She struck out nine and walked four.


MONROE 5, PLATTEVILLE 4

PLATEVILLE — Katrina Sathoff’s RBI groundout gave Monroe the edge in 5-4 extra-inning win on Monday, April 10. Paulson led off the inning with a triple and Sathoff brought her home with a grounder to second.

Monroe recorded five hits to Platteville’s seven — one each from Paulson, Sathoff, Witt, Roidt and Sophie Golembiewski. Sathoff and Golembiewski plated two runs each. On the mound, Paulson pitched a complete game, giving up two earned runs on seven hits. She struck out nine and walked two.


BRODHEAD 4, EVANSVILLE 0

EVANSVILLE — Taetum Hoesly’s solo homerun in the second sparked Brodhead’s offense in a 4-0 shutout victory over Evansville on Tuesday, April 11.

Hoesly was the only Cardinal to record a multiple-hit game, singling in her second at-bat. Ava Risum also recorded an extra-base hit with a double in the fifth. Mckenna Young dominated in the circle, giving up just one hit. She struck out 14 batters without issuing a walk.


BOSCOBEL 9, DARLINGTON 3

DARLINGTON — A pair of three-run innings by the Bulldogs pushed them over the Redbirds in a conference game on Monday, April 10.

Chance Lange led the offense, accounting for two of Darlington’s four hits. The remaining two came from Jaylyn Schwartz and Sydney Wiegel. Sophie Wiegel threw seven innings of eight-hit ball. She suffered the loss, giving up six earned runs.


BARNEVELD 24, ARGYLE 0

BARNEVELD — Mya McNett accounted for the Orioles’ only hit in their conference loss to the Eagles on Tuesday, April 11. She reached base a second time, getting hit by a pitch. McNett suffered the loss in the circle, pitching just 1 2/3 innings. She gave up six earned runs on 12 hits.
