Wanita Joy Foesch
Wanita Joy Foesch

Wanita, born on March 17th, 1967, departed this world on September 4th, 2023, at the age of 56. She leaves behind a legacy of vibrant and enduring joy that will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing her. Wanita possessed a natural enthusiasm that illuminated any room she entered, and her expressive nature and vivacity endeared her to all she encountered. Her compassion knew no bounds; she was ever-ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need, without discrimination.

Wanita had great passions in life. One was classic cars, particularly the 1967 Camero and C10 trucks. She had a special bond with her 1987 GMC Sierra named "Bonnie," which she considered her favorite set of extra legs. Music was another of her passions, and she could often be found jamming out to tunes by artists like REO Speedwagon, R.E.M., Metallica, The Goo Goo Dolls, Creed, and Three Days Grace, to name just a few of her favorites.

Beyond her love for music and cars, Wanita enjoyed immersing herself in the beauty of nature. She cherished moments spent fishing, embarking on scenic road cruises, and marveling at the wonders of God's creation. Her heart was captivated by flowing rivers, the thrill of storm chasing, the serenity of bird watching, and the satisfaction of tending to her vegetable garden and flowers.

During the 1990s, Wanita worked at a horse farm near Monroe and the Browntown Foundry, where she showcased her strength alongside her father and brothers. She was a woman of resilience and determination, often seen donning a pair of aviators, plaid shirts, and blue jeans. She had a penchant for the fragrances of freshly cut pine, roses, and lilac flowers, which brought her comfort and joy.

Shortly before her passing, she received the joyous news that she would soon become a grandmother to a granddaughter named Iris. This prospect filled her heart with boundless excitement, and the legacy of "Joy" that graced her middle name will continue with her cherished granddaughter.

Wanita held strong faith in the Lord Jesus and believed in His eternal presence. She now rests peacefully in His embrace.

Wanita is survived by her beloved son, Grant Buol (Lindsey Hallock) of Dubuque, Iowa; her cherished cat, Shablee; a special friend, Dave Buol of Monroe; her mother, Virginia of Monroe; numerous siblings, Wendy Sowl of Albany; Wanda (Brian) Brugger of Monroe; Wade (Kelly) of Monroe; Wayne of Juda; Wes (Lisa) of Blanchardville; Wyatt (Tina) of Davis, IL; Ward (Sherri) of Monroe; and Wenelle Sofran (Jamie) of Argyle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wanita was preceded in death by her father, Gregory; her infant brother, Craig; and two brothers-in-law, Dan Waite and Clayt Sowl.

Two celebrations of Wanita's life will be held, one at The Church of the Nazarene, 1195 Prysi Street, Dubuque, Iowa, on Sunday, September 17, at noon, and another at Woodford Park in Woodford, Wisconsin, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 3:00 pm-?
