Jon C. Baker, age 55, of Browntown, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County. Jon was born on December 6, 1962 in Monroe, the son of Ken and Rita (Snyder) Baker. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1981. Jon entered the U.S. Navy in 1981, serving in the Persian Gulf War/Desert Storm before honorably retiring in 2001. He married Denise Kuebli on January 1, 2003 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello. Jon worked for Monroe Trucks, Arrow Motors, and most recently Metz Welding in Gratiot. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter, fisherman, and was looking forward to teaching his grandsons about his love of the outdoors. Jon was known as a master griller and always will be remembered for his sense of humor.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Denise Baker of Browntown; a daughter, Mandy (Clinton) Feeney of Willows, CA; stepsons, Jeremy Heins, Jacob (Amanda) Heins, Isaac Sigafus; and grandsons, Russell, Jaxson, and Raylan. He is further survived by five siblings, Karyn Johnson of Monroe, Brent (Kathy) Baker of Menomonee Falls, Paula (Terry) Feltmeyer of Stockton, IL, Kay Baker of Dubuque, IA, Tina (Jerry) Mau of Browntown; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Stephanie Baker.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, with Rev. Lance Smith officiating. Services will be followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation was at the church on Tuesday, October 23rd, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Jon’s name.
