STOUGHTON - STI Holdings, Inc. and its operating subsidiary, Stoughton Trailers, LLC, announced this week it has purchased about 17 acres of land in the city of Brodhead.
The land is situated directly across the street from Stoughton Trailers' Brodhead manufacturing plant at 302 23rd St. Stoughton Trailers said it plans to use the land to support its current manufacturing operations in Brodhead. The purchase also provides for potential future expansion.
"The Stoughton Trailers Brodhead manufacturing facility is a critical component of our manufacturing footprint," Stoughton Trailers President and CEO Bob Wahlin said in a news release.
"This acquisition will help strengthen our manufacturing operations, and it also demonstrates our commitment to the city of Brodhead. We are grateful for the support of Mayor Doug Pinnow, the Brodhead City Council, and Mike Johnson, executive director of Green County Development Corporation, for their assistance in making this acquisition a reality. We are proud to be a member of the Brodhead business community, and this acquisition will certainly help us solidify and grow our operations there."
Pinnow wished Stoughton Trailers success.

Stoughton Trailers employs more than 1,500 people at operations in Stoughton, Evansville and Brodhead. The Brodhead facility employs 450 people and manufactures semi-truck trailers for over-the-road trucking. The company designs, manufactures and markets a semi-truck trailers used for over-the-road trucking, as well as agricultural trailers and other specialty transportation equipment.
