Charlene A. Spencer, 57, of Sarasota, FL, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital with her husband and her mother at her side. This was a tragic loss to all who knew her. She was born August 18, 1952 in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of Emil and Esther (Demanouske) Betker. She was a graduate of Clinton, WI, High School; had an associate degree in biology from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and was a Radiologic Technician. She was an artistic, creative and caring person, loved by all. She lived in Florida since 1981. She married Stephen A. Spencer on November 3, 1990.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Spencer, Sarasota; mother, Esther Betker, Beloit; two brothers, Ronald (JoAnne) Betker, Beloit; Steven (Jackie) Betker, Brodhead; five nieces, Brenda Lounsbury, Beloit; Rhonda Gonzalez, Rockford; Pauline (Matt) Schork, Janesville; Amy (Jeff Steffensen), Janesville; Stephanie (Mark) Stark, Orfordville; one nephew, Leonard (Denise) Betker, Beloit; 13 grandnieces and nephews, Bradley, Shawn; Brittney, Ariana, Jordan, Dahlton; Samantha, Patrick, Lucas; Remington, Christina; Aidan, Austin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many of all ages who were honored to call her a friend including one who was special, Rita Total.

A Memorial/Celebration of Her Life will be planned in Beloit in May 2010. Her beautiful long golden hair was donated to Locks of Love.
