WRAP announces award winners

MONROE - On Saturday, June 7 at the Monroe Arts Center, the 2008 Wisconsin Regional Arts Program (WRAP) daylong workshop was held and the State and Honorable Mention award winners were announced.

Special guest artist and judge, Doug Haynes of Madison, chose a total of 19 artists to receive these special awards.

This was the 21st consecutive year the Monroe Arts Center hosted this program for non-professional artists.

This program is co-sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Liberal Studies.

The State Award recipients were: Linda Caudell, Susan Ivanko and Joan Stackpole, all Monroe

Artists given Honorable Mention awards were: Robert Beinema, Monroe; Donald McKeon, Darlington; Darra Porter, Brodhead; and Jane Swenson, Browntown.

All the State Award winning artworks selected at each of the 24 Wisconsin regional exhibit locations this past year, will again be juried at the annual State Art Exhibition and Conference at the Pyle Center in Madison on Saturday, Sept.r 27.
