Transportation and Logistics Career Expo to be held Saturday

JANESVILLE - A transportation and Logistics Career Expo will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Rock County Job Center, 1900 Center Ave., Janesville.

There will be six employers present, as well as two training providers for people who are interested in commercial drivers' license training. In addition, job center representatives will be present to provide information on job center programs that can assist with training such as foodshare employment and Training and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act employment and training programs.

Those attending will have opportunities to talk to area companies that have immediate job openings, be able to see trucking equipment and school demonstrations and be able to ask questions.

As of Sept. 19, companies participating include DDH Transport, South Beloit; Lycon Inc., Janesville; Upper Lakes Foods, Cloquet, Minnesota; Schneider, Green Bay; Waste Management, Janesville; and TQ Logistics, Marietta, Georgia. Training providers include Blackhawk Technical College and 160 Driving Academy, Freeport.
