I'd like to start off by saying "thank You" to the community for supporting the Badger Lapidary and Geological Society's Rock and Gem show for 46 consecutive years. Our show, held at the Monroe High School and widely known for its emphasis on kids and science education, has pretty much become an icon in the community.

Unfortunately, changes in the Monroe school district administration's policies and prices will put an end to this. While our ongoing rental fees for the space were relatively low, and we could have managed a doubling, we cannot handle the five-fold increase in fees now being charged.

We have looked at many avenues to try and keep our show in Monroe but none seemed to work out. Instead, we have secured a new location at the Rock County Fairgrounds in Janesville for March 25 and 26. We hope the community will continue to support our show as you have in the past and we appreciate it very much.

Thank you.
