Novak: Pause on E-Updates
Todd Novak
Todd Novak

Editor’s note: This update was released by Rep. Novak on Thursday, May 31.

Following this E-Update, I will no longer be sending out weekly newsletter messages until after the fall election. This is because of a state law referred to as “The 50 piece rule”. This prevents incumbent state officeholders from sending out mass communications once nomination papers for their election begin circulating. Following the November election regular E-Updates will resume.

Despite the “50 piece rule” going into effect, I am still here to serve you! My staff and I continue to work on constituent casework and legislative issues. If you need any assistance on a state issue you can contact my office as usual.

New 51st Assembly District
New 51st Assembly District, 2024

New 51st Assembly District

As you have likely heard already, there are new Legislative maps that were signed into law by Governor Tony Evers as 2023 Act 94.

Under the new maps, I will be losing the portions of Green, Richland and Sauk Counties that I currently represent. I will now be representing all of Iowa and Lafayette Counties, as well as portions of eastern Grant County.

While I am sad that I will not be representing some of my current constituents anymore I am excited to welcome new constituents and continuing to serve all of southwest Wisconsin.

You can find more information on the new districts, including information on your new state legislator at https://maps.legis.wisconsin.gov/?version=2022. And of course please feel free to contact my office if you have any questions on the legislative districts or need assistance contacting your new legislator.

Last Sunday, Senator Howard Marklein and I presented a citation to Bruce Ruegsegger for his 25 years of service to the Wiota Fire Department, including 20 years as Chief. Bruce has been very active in the community, and it showed last weekend as his open house was standing room only. Congratulations and best of luck Bruce!
