Seven wrestlers take part in Iowa national meet

The tournament, held March 29-31, featured hundreds of wrestlers from around the county. Seven Monroe wrestlers took part, including Noah Schuch, Patrick Harms, Payton Weckerly, Jack Dubach, Gage Bostby, Brady Schuh and Garrett Voegeli.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Five Monroe Mat Rats and two Monroe High School wrestlers (former Mat Rats) wrestled at the 2019 USAW Folkstyle Youth Wrestling Nationals March 29-31. 

Noah Schuh (10-U, 63 lbs); Patrick Harms (10-U, 77 lbs); Payton Weckerly (12-U, 98 lbs); and Jack Dubach (14-U, 102 lbs) all wrestled competitively but did not place in the tournament. 

Gage Ostby (10-U, 49 lbs), making his first appearance at Nationals, placed fourth. High school wrestlers, Brady Schuh (16-U, 106 lbs) did not place; and Garrett Voegeli (16-U, 94 lbs) placed eighth in the tournament.
