MADISON — Natalie Leuzinger has been catching fire.
The 2020 Black Hawk graduate scored a career-high 15 points to lead Madison in an 89-50 loss to Purdue on Dec. 30, 2023. She followed that performance up with a 13-point game against Nebraska on Jan. 4, 2024, where the Badgers lost 69-57. In both of those contests, Leuzinger came off the bench.
Leuzinger also saw success in the classroom, as UW-Madison released its fall semester Dean’s List Jan. 1.
Leuzinger earned a 4.00 and was joined by teammate Leena Patibandla. As a team, UW Women’s Basketball posted a 3.27 GPA with five players on the Dean’s List.
In the 2023-24 season, Leuzinger has started 11 of 14 games and is averaging 7.9 ppg and 2.9 rpg. She’s shooting .727 from the free-throw line and .326 from 3-point range.
The Badgers are 8-6 overall and 1-3 in Big Ten play. Their next contest is Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the Kohl Center against Northwestern.
