Milton 6, Monroe 0
MILTON — On April 12, the Cheesemakers struggled in the windy and wet conditions on the road, falling to the Red Hawks in a Badger Conference game 6-0.
Milton scored almost instantly, putting the first goal past Monroe goalkeeper Kaelyn Welch just 65 seconds after first touch. In the 8th minute, the Red Hawks made it 2-0, and just 30 seconds later after an interception the home team went ahead 3-0. Late in the 11th minute, the Red Hawks took advantage of another Monroe miscue to go ahead by four goals.
With the wind behind them in the second half, the Red Hawks made sure Monroe wasn’t going to score on any quick counterstrikes and added two more scores for good measure.
Monroe was scheduled to play April 14 at Lodi in a nonconference game, with the long-awaited home opener set for April 18 against Platteville.
