BLANCHARDVILLE — Following its runner-up finish in the Six Rivers East, Pecatonica had six players named all-conference.

Conference champions Barneveld also had six all-conference selections, including Player of the Year Daisy Hanson. Coach Martina Reuter was also named Coach of the Year.

Sophomore Loretta Tisch and junior Madelyn Cleary made first team. Loretta Tisch was an all-around player for the Vikings, digging out balls in the back row, serving up aces and attacking from the outside. Cleary was the team’s offensive leader from the middle.

Senior Anna Tisch was the lone second team selection for Pecatonica, heavily relied upon for her ability to mix it up as a setter. She also dabbled in hitting from the outside.

Seniors Maddie Hirsch, Alyssa Cassidy and junior Mikaela Gross received honorable mention. Hirsch was an outside hitter, Cassidy the team’s libero and Gross a middle.

Pecatonica finished its season 12-7 overall and 10-2 in conference. The Vikings defeated their two regional opponents in five sets before falling to Six Rivers East champion Barneveld in a regional final. The team graduated six seniors.

Senior Alana Durtschi led all Albany selections as the lone player on first team. She paced the Comets in many statistical categories, including kills and digs.

Junior Anna Ellinger made second team, with significant contributions in kills, blocks and digs.

Seniors Avary Briggs and Myah Johnson earned honorable mention. Briggs regularly contributed digs and kills. Johnson, meanwhile, split the setting duties with Ellie Modaff.

Albany finished 17-11 overall and 9-3 in conference. The team’s biggest win was a four-set victory over Pecatonica in late September. The Comets won their second straight regional quarterfinal before falling to Southwestern in a regional semifinal. Albany graduates seven seniors.

Sophomore transfer Kylie Butler was the lone first-team all-conference selection for Argyle. The outside hitter led the Orioles in kills (270), hitting percentage (.154), aces (43) and digs (322).

Junior Mya McNett made second-team all-conference, playing many roles throughout the season from setter to hitter to defensive specialist. She was second on the team in aces (41), third in digs (248) and third in assists (59).

The Orioles’ seniors — Alexis Rosenstiel and Sadie Steiner — along with freshman Avari Steiner earned honorable mention. Rosenstiel was second on the team in blocks (14) and third in kills (85). Sadie Steiner, the team’s libero, tallied 27 aces in 269 attempts with 19 errors for a 92.9 serving percentage. She was also second in digs (262). Avari Steiner, who switched between setter and outside hitter, tallied 130 assists, 69 kills and 184 digs.

Argyle finished 11-15 overall and 6-6 in conference. The Orioles won their regional quarterfinal match against Six Rivers East opponent Monticello before falling to conference champions Barneveld. The team graduates just two seniors and returns a slew of underclassmen.

Dalana Trumpy, an honorable mention selection a year ago, made first-team all-conference for Monticello. She was heavily relied upon as a hitter and leader for the Ponies.

Likewise, Jaden Zuber was relied upon as a hitter and leader. Her efforts garnered a spot on second team.

Defensive specialist Danica Altmann and setter Kennadee Johnson earned honorable mention.

Despite three returners with state playing experience, Monticello took a dip with a 7-15 overall record and 4-8 mark in conference. The Ponies lost their opening playoff game to Argyle, 3-0. The team graduates four seniors, two of which saw varsity playing time.

Sophomore Mya Milz led all Black Hawk selections as the lone player on second team. She contributed with assists and digs.

Seniors Allyse Troemel, Kendra Haldiman and Veronica Cheatham garnered honorable mention recognition. The trio was responsible for a majority of the Warriors’ offense.

Black Hawk finished 3-14 overall with a 2-10 record in conference. The Warriors lost their opening playoff game to Shullsburg, 3-0. The team had another large senior class comprised of eight players.

Seniors Briliey Swedlund and Lavinia Rufer earned honorable mention for Juda. The pair were leaders on the team, responsible for offensive contributions.

The Panthers were unable to collect a win this season, going 0-17 overall and 0-12. Juda fell in three sets to Six Rivers West champion Highland. The team graduated four seniors with a handful of underclassmen slated to return.

This year, the Six Rivers Conference introduced a Sportsmanship Team, where one player from each team was recognized. The honor went to Rachel Wildt (Albany), Rosenstiel (Argyle), Makayla Kammes (Black Hawk), Swedlund (Juda), Sadie Wilkins (Monticello) and Bri Peterson (Pecatonica).
