MARSHALL — The Knights overcame a four-point first-half deficit to defeat Marshall 58-51 in their regular-season finale on Thursday, Feb. 23.

AC Strok paced New Glarus with 21 points, draining four 3-pointers. Max Parman and Ethan Friedrich sank a pair of threes each in their respective 15- and 12-point totals. Friedrich was also perfect at the charity stripe. The remaining offense came from Jack Leonard (nine points) and Lawrence Vasquez (one point). 


MONTICELLO 41, ALBANY 34

ALBANY — The Ponies prevailed in a Six Rivers East game that featured 10 lead changes and three ties on Thursday, Feb. 23. Alex Roe’s 3-pointer with seven minutes left in the game proved to be the difference maker, as Monticello took the 32-30 lead and never looked back.

Peyton Smith was a basket away from a double-double, grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds with eight points. Jackson Eyler and Ryer Indergand led the offense with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Eyler controlled the first half, scoring 11 of his 13 points, while Indergand came alive in the second, scoring seven of his 10 points. 

Ethan Koss and James Schwartz put up eight points each for Albany, while Schwartz alone led in rebounds with six. 


CUBA CITY 86, DARLINGTON 66

CUBA CITY — After just a three-point lead at halftime, the Cubans exploded for 49 points in the second half en route to their SWAL victory on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Cuba City had five players score in double figures — led by senior Riley Rosenkrantz with 23 points — while Darlington had just three in double digits. Carver Fitzsimons’s double-double paced the Redbirds, as the senior scored 13 points with 10 rebounds. Will Murray led the offense with 18 points, while Brady Long chipped in 11 points.


JEFFERSON 57, BRODHEAD 48

BRODHEAD — After the results of their Friday, Feb. 24 game, Jefferson and Brodhead move into a tie in the Rock Valley Conference with a 5-13 record.

Jaxon Dooley and Cullen Walker led the Cardinals with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Gabe Bockhop chipped in nine points, all coming from beyond the arc. 

In other local basketball action, Barneveld finished its conference season undefeated with a 67-40 win over Black Hawk and 50-34 win over Pecatonica.
