DARLINGTON — The WBCA announced its All-State teams on Monday, March 20, with Darlington’s Carver Fitzsimons and Will Murray receiving Honorable Mention All-State.
The duo led the SWAL Conference champion Redbirds in both scoring and rebounding. Fitzsimons averaged 13.7 ppg with 9.1 rpg — just shy of a double-double. Meanwhile, Murray averaged 16.4 ppg with 5.7 rpg.
Fellow SWAL players Max Lucey (Cuba City) and Brady Larson (Fennimore) made First-Team All-State. Both athletes received Honorable Mention recognition last year.
Larson and Lucey shared Player of the Year recognition in the SWAL. Larson averaged a team-high 21.5 ppg, 3.7 apg and 3.6 spg with 5.5 rpg. He scored 1,378 career points. Fennimore finished 16-10 overall record with a fourth-place finish in conference. Lucey helped SWAL runner-up Cuba City to a 19-8 overall record by averaging a team-high 21.2 ppg and 3.6 apg with 5.1 rpg. Lucey finished his high school career with 1,166 points.
Milan Momcilovic of Pewaukee and John Kinziger of De Pere were named Mr. Basketball.
