D4 NG defeats D2 Mt. Horeb

NEW GLARUS — The No. 4-ranked Division 4 Knights added a 77-48 win over Division 2 Mount Horeb to their repertoire on Monday, Jan. 30. 

Lindsay Schadewalt scored a season-high 31 points with eight rebounds to lead the squad. She made one three with four free throws. Elle Lancaster, who finished with 13 points, accounted for the remaining two 3-pointers. Grace Nommensen was the third Knight in double figures with 15 points. Nommensen and Alex Atwell made significant contributions on the boards, with seven rebounds each.


PECATONICA 59, EVANSVILLE 56

EVANSVILLE — Down by 19 at halftime, the Vikings rallied for a nonconference road win on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

“I’m very proud of the girls,” Pecatonica head coach Linda Hendrickson said. “We made some key adjustments at halftime, and we kit some key shots giving us the momentum we needed to push through. … When you have four girls score in double digits, you know everyone played a role in the win.”

Chloe Schraepfer, who leads the Six Rivers East in scoring with 17.2 ppg, led Pecatonica with 24 points. She sank three 3-pointers and went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe. Anna Tisch was the second-highest scorer with 13 points and three 3-pointers, while Bri Peterson and Diana Hendrickson chipped in 10 points each.


BRODHEAD 65, MARSHALL 45

BRODHEAD — The host Cardinals limited the visiting Cardinals’ top scorer Allie Rateike to just seven points in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Meanwhile, Brodhead’s leading scorer Abbie Dix tallied 22 points with 15 rebounds for a double-double. Alecia Dahl also scored in double figures with 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. All of Alexis Kammerer’s nine points came from beyond the arc, while Addison Yates chipped in 10 points. 


PARKVIEW 48, JUDA 43

ORFORDVILLE — The Panthers scratched and clawed for their fourth win of the season, falling just short to the Vikings in triple overtime.

Camilla Hauser was the thorn in Juda’s side, scoring 28 points. Meanwhile, Jackie Nusbaum led the Panthers with 12 — six of which came in overtime. Lavinia Rufer also scored in double figures with 10 points. Briliey Swedlund sank a pair of threes in her nine-point total, while Ciarrah Davis made one in her six-point total. Alexxis Metz and Katie Brooks chipped in two points each.


MILTON 60, MONROE 48

MONROE — Taylor Jacobson’s double-double wasn’t enough, as the Cheesemakers dropped a Badger crossover game on Monday, Jan. 30.

Jacobson tallied 19 points with 13 rebounds to lead Monroe. Sophie Golembiewski also scored in double figures with 13 points — seven of which came at the free-throw line. Abbey Matley (five points), Allison Wunschel (three points) and Sophia Douglas (four points) all drained a 3-pointer. Sydnee Conway was the final offensive contributor with four points.
