MONROE - Kyle Kasten has been named the new Monroe High School girls soccer coach.
Monroe Activities Director Jeff Newcomer made the announcement in a press release Monday.
Kasten has six years of high school soccer coaching experience as an assistant with both Sugar River and Verona.
"We are excited to add Coach Kasten to the Cheesemaker coaching family," Newcomer said in the release. "Coach Kasten works in the district, as a special education teacher at Monroe Middle School. It is always a benefit when there are qualified coaches already working in the district. In talking to Coach Kasten, it became obvious that he has a coaching philosophy that we look for in coaches, and his passion for the sport cannot be matched."
Kasten replaces former coach Miriam O'Neill, who stepped down. O'Neill was the Monroe coach for 10 seasons.
