Ruby Radke, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born the youngest of 12 children to Joseph and Maggie (Gibson) Yarnall on July 8, 1937 in Eau Claire County.  She graduated from Osseo High School in 1955.  Ruby met her husband of 47 years Wallace Radke at the Carl Hauser Studio in Janesville, WI.  They were united in marriage on May 27, 1956 in Osseo, WI. 

In March of 1956 Ruby and Wally purchased the former ZumBrunnen Studio in Monroe and established the Radke Studio of Photography, a landmark business on the square.  In 1981 Ruby and Wally opened Wing ‘n Pond Gallery and worked side by side with their son, Chuck and daughter, Mona for over 30 years. 

She has been a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ since 1956; where she taught Sunday School for several years, was a member of Mary’s Circle, and headed up the alter guild for ten years.  Ruby was a longtime member of the Women of the Moose, the New World Swiss Club at Turner Hall, VFW Auxiliary for close to 60 years, the Monroe Optimist Club, and Monroe Woman’s Club since 1977.  She also gave her time to the Courthaus Quilters Guild where she was a charter member.   When Ruby’s daughters were young, she served as Girl Scout leader for their troop.  Above all, Ruby cherished time spent with her family.

Ruby is survived by; children, Angelia (Joe) Foss of Bettendorf, IA, Chuck (Luann) Radke of Monroe, Ramona (Brad) Wedig of Rockton, IL, Lisa (Bob) Clason of Sun Prairie, WI, and Brent (Nancy) Radke of Mt. Horeb, WI; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Helen) Yarnall of Alberton, MT; and Ken Anderson of Monroe. 

She joins her parents; Husband, Wallace; 5 brothers; 5 sisters; and grandson, Matthew in Heaven.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Christina Schoenwetter officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. 

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
