TOWN OF NEW GLARUS - Three juveniles were injured after a golf cart overturned and landed on its roof Thursday afternoon in the Town of New Glarus.
An unidentified 13-year-old girl was driving a golf cart at a high rate of speed downhill before the accident, according to a Green County Sheriff's Department news release.
The young girl was driving westbound on Windmill Ridge Road, when the golf cart began to swerve. The driver attempted to correct the cart, causing it to go airborne and land on its side. The golf cart slid on its side for about 100 feet before overturning and becoming airborne again. The golf cart came to rest on its roof.
The 13-year-old girl driving was transported via MedFlight for treatment of her injuries. Her two passengers, a 14-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were transported via ambulance for treatment for their injuries.
New Glarus police, deputies, New Glarus EMS and the New Glarus Fire Department all assisted at the scene.
