MONROE - A date has been set for the trial of a Monroe man accused of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman.

The defense for Derek J. Larosh, 26, appeared in court via telephone for a review hearing Friday and scheduled the first day of Larosh's trial for March 30. The trial is expected to last no more than three days.

Larosh is charged with a second-degree count of sexual assault of an unconscious victim, a second-degree count of sexual assault by use of force, and four misdemeanor counts of bail jumping.

The charges stem from a July 27, 2014, incident when Larosh allegedly sexually assaulted a young woman while she was unconscious in his parents' home. The woman was intoxicated after having celebrated her birthday at a bar, where she met Larosh.

According to court records, Larosh invited the woman to his parents' home and offered to let her sleep there until she could arrange for a ride home. The woman alleged she woke in the middle of the night to find Larosh sexually assaulting her.

At the review hearing, Circuit Judge Thomas Vale also ruled that the results of an investigation into the victim's medical history indicated nothing that would reasonably cast doubt on her testimony.

Larosh will next appear in court on March 7 for a final pre-trial conference.
