Monroe Police

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 3:41 p.m. Sept. 14 at 14th Avenue and 14th Street. A 17-year-old Monroe girl was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign. Nicole M. Ruegsegger, 33, Monroe, was cited for non-registration of a motor vehicle. 


Green County Sheriff

MONROE —  Amy L. Johnson, 65, Monroe, reported no injuries from a vehicle vs. cow crash at 9:06 p.m. Sept. 8 in the N500 block of Five Corner Road, Town of Jefferson. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. The cow was not located. The cow owner was notified of the incident.

On Sept. 4:

●  Duane A. Heim, 47, Shullsburg, reported a vehicle vs. cow crash at 5:31 a.m. on County O, Town of Kendall. The cow was in the middle of the road. Heim’s 2009 Dodge sustained severe damage. It was towed.

●  Brian Hermanson, 45, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 10:24 p.m. on County K, Town of Gratiot.

On Sept. 5:

●  A two-vehicle accident was reported at 12:08 p.m. in a public parking lot on West Milwaukee Street in Argyle. A parked 2005 Chevrolet driven by Janis L. Baumann, 53, Janesville, was backed into by a 2010 Ford driven by Valerie J. Weihman-Rock, 62, Argyle. The vehicles were driven from the scene with minor damage.

●  A two-vehicle accident was reported at 2 p.m. on Aetna Road, Town of New Diggings. A 2002 Dodge driven by Levi C. Gill, 29, Argyle, struck a 2007 Pontiac driven by Kailie R. Mootz-Redfearn, 17, Benton. The vehicles were driven from the scene with minor damage. Gill was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

On Sept. 6:

●  Brady W. Murray, 23, Pulaski, reported hitting a deer at 8:30 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. His 2008 Subaru sustained moderate damage. It was towed. Belmont police assisted on scene.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 5:48 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Town of Brooklyn. Peter R. Wolter, 50, North Freedom, was eastbound on Wis. 92 and stopped at the stop sign at Glenway Road. At this time an eastbound vehicle behind him driven by Brence M. Hines, 31, Brooklyn, rear-ended Wolter’s vehicle. The vehicles sustained functional damage, with Wolter’s vehicle driven from the scene. Hines’ vehicle was later removed. Hines was cited for driving with a revoked license and following too closely.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 7:04 a.m. Sept. 11 in the N4100 block of Wis. 69 just north of Monroe, between County FF and Abels Road. James H. Flanagan, 52, Monroe, was southbound and turning left when he was rear-ended by Jacob S. White, 24, Freeport. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Flanagan’s vehicle was moved from the scene. White’s vehicle was towed.

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle crash at 12:46 p.m. Sept. 14 in the N8400 block of Wis. 104. Eric T. Wojta, 33, McFarland, was southbound when he swerved to avoid a fox in the road, then swerved again to avoid oncoming traffic, exited the road and hit a guardrail. His vehicle sustained moderate damage.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — A one-vehicle accident was reported at 9:56 p.m. Sept. 11 on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. Jamie T. Schmid, 42, Juda, hit a raccoon, causing his 2002 GMC to enter the ditch. No injuries were reported. The GMC sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

●  Vicki L. Olson, 59, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 6:25 p.m. Sept. 12 on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. No injuries were reported. Her 2015 Chrysler sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On Sept. 13:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 5:07 a.m. on County M, Town of Darlington. Tyler S. L. Berget, 26, Darlington, was northbound when he swerved to miss a deer, causing his 2010 Ford to enter the ditch and hit a fence. The Ford sustained moderate damage and was towed. Berget was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance.

●  Jeffrey M. Solberg, 34, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 6:05 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont. No injuries were reported. The 2013 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage. It was towed.

●  Karen S. Womack, 43, Belmont, reported hitting a deer at 11:19 p.m. Sept. 14 on County G, Town of Belmont. Her Chevrolet sustained minor damage.

●  Carol J. Ruf, 56, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 7:34 a.m. Sept. 15 on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. Her 2008 Dodge sustained moderate damage. It was towed.
