MONROE - On Tuesday, Dec. 10:

• A gas drive-off was reported at 7:51 a.m. at Stop-N-Go, 1607 9th St., but the suspect was contacted and came back to pay.

• A kitten with tiger markings who answers to "Sophie" was reported lost at 8:32 a.m. from the 1600 block of 25th Avenue.

• An unshoveled sidewalk was reported at 8:50 a.m. in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue. A notice was sent to the owner.

• A caller at 9:17 a.m. complained of a Dumpster left on a sidewalk downtown in the 1700 block of 12th Street.

• An officer on patrol at 9:29 a.m. observed a person blowing snow into the street with a snowblower in the 1400 block of 20th Avenue and warned the person that this is a code violation.

• Retail theft was reported at 2:34 p.m. at Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W. More than $1,000 in merchandise had been shoplifted. Police are following leads.

On Wednesday, Dec. 11:

• A woman in the 700 block of 27th Avenue reported at 10:32 a.m. that a phone scammer purporting to be with the state Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program had obtained personal information from her. Police referred her to the Social Security Administration.

• Freeport police contacted police here at 4:22 p.m. with a report that documents belonging to a Monroe resident were recovered in Freeport. The case is being investigated as a theft.

• A burglary was reported at 4:55 p.m. in the 2000 block of 18th Avenue. Electronic items, including a game deck and two DVD players, had been stolen sometime earlier in the week.

• A cat hanging around the Chamber of Commerce building in the 1500 block of 9th Street was reported at 5:22 p.m. The cat's owner was located and warned about allowing the animal to roam at large.

• A 911 pocket dial at 5:56 p.m. was traced to the 800 block of 30th Street. There was no emergency.
