FELONIES
- Steven Alexander Steiner, 19, Browntown, pleaded no contest Tuesday, Aug. 7, to a Class G felony charge of possessing a firearm as an adjudged delinquent and misdemeanor charges of possessing a dangerous weapon under the age of 18, receiving stolen property and resisting/obstructing an officer. He was granted a two-year stay of judgment on the felony and put on 18 months of probation for the misdemeanors. He is ordered to pay restitution and court costs, undergo any recommended counseling, including anger management, attend a victim-impact panel for property-theft offenders and have no contact with the victims. Court records indicate Steiner possessed seven various pistols, shotguns and rifles at a residence in the 100 block of West South Street in Browntown in December 2010 and that in January 2011 in lied to an officer about the guns. Steiner is also convicted of stealing a flatbed trailer worth $1,500 from a residence in the W7800 block of Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Cadiz in April or May 2011. Misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer were dismissed against Steiner. Both dismissed charges stem from an incident at his parents' home in Browntown in August 2011.
- A criminal complaint was filed Thursday, Aug. 2, against Kyle David Abrahamson, 18, Albany, on felony bail jumping and a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. Court records indicate he caused a disturbance while intoxicated in June at the Park Road Pavilion near the Decatur Lake and dam in the Town of Decatur by becoming physically and verbally abusive toward others, and by doing so, violated his bond conditions on felony burglary and theft charges in Rock County.
- A criminal complaint with an arrest warrant was filed Friday, Aug. 3, against Tieshia Monet Ray, 23, Stoughton, on a Class H felony charge of forgery and a Class A misdemeanor charge of theft by false representation. Court records indicate she cashed a forged check to the amount of $463 at Dick's Piggly Wiggly, 725 8th St., on June 17.
- A criminal complaint with an arrest warrant was filed Wednesday, Aug. 8, against James L. Roberts, Jr., 25, address unknown, on two felony counts of burglary, a felony count of criminal damage to property, two misdemeanor counts of theft and Class A misdemeanor counts of entry into a locked coin box and criminal damage to property. Court records indicate that in August 2011, Roberts broke into Goebel's Inn, 108 S. Mill St., Browntown and stole cash, coins, a television, cigarettes, candy and soda; and that he broke into the Browntown Civic Center, 110 S. Mill St., and stole cash and coins.
MISDEMEANORS
- Avory Tyler Martin, 17, Monroe, pleaded no contest Tuesday, Aug. 7, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of criminal damage to property and was granted a one-year deferred prosecution with the conditions that he pay court costs, undergo an assessment for alcohol and other drug abuse and attend anger management counseling. Court records indicate Martin was verbally abusive toward his mother during an incident in March and punched a door until it broke. Charges of misdemeanor bail jumping and disorderly conduct were dismissed. He also pleaded no contest to driving while intoxicated (second offense), stemming from an arrest in September 2011. He was sentenced on this conviction to 10 days in jail and ordered to pay $1,122. His driver's license is revoked for 14 months.
- John F. Miller, 56, Monroe, has an initial appearance scheduled Aug. 27 on a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct filed Thursday, Aug. 2. The charge stems from a domestic dispute with a woman at a residence in the N3300 block of Joy Del Road in the Town of Monroe.
- Nicholas David Siegel, 19, Monroe, stood mute Monday, Aug. 6, on a misdemeanor charge of possessing 0.2 grams of marijuana. The charge stems from a traffic stop the previous day in Monroe. He has a pre-trial conference scheduled Sept. 4.
- David B. Waage, 58, Monroe, has an initial appearance scheduled Aug. 27 on Class B misdemeanor charges filed Monday, Aug. 6, of disorderly conduct and telephone harassment. Court records indicate Waage made repeated, harassing phone calls in June to area Sugar River Banks and the Bank of New Glarus and threatened to kill employees.
- Kathleen J. Hall, 41, Waunakee, has an initial appearance scheduled Aug. 27 on two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct filed Wednesday, Aug. 8. Court records indicate that on June 24 while driving on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Jefferson she yelled at her preteen children, then stopped her minivan, demanded they get out of the vehicle and then drove off, leaving them there. The second disorderly conduct charge alleges Hall was confrontational and verbally abusive to a woman who stopped to help the children.
- Adam Tyler Menehan, 27, Albany, has an initial appearance scheduled Aug. 27 on a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping filed Wednesday, Aug. 8. Court records indicate he violated bond on multiple charges in Columbia County by drinking alcohol in June. Law enforcement was called to the Monroe Clinic ER, where Menehan was reportedly intoxicated and being treated for injuries he sustained in an ATV crash.
- Stephen John Bak, 19, Madison, has an initial appearance scheduled Sept. 10 on a Class A misdemeanor theft charge filed Wednesday, Aug. 8. Court records indicate he stole a GPS navigation system and speakers out of a vehicle in the 400 block of East Dale Street in July.
- Kathy Ann Colin, 38, Monroe, has an initial appearance scheduled Sept. 10 on misdemeanor charges filed Wednesday, Aug. 8, of theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of an illegally obtained prescription. Court records indicate she stole 30 tablets of the prescription narcotic hydrocodone in June from a residence in the 300 block of 4th Street in Monroe.
