ARGYLE - Monroe native Roberta Bayrhoffer plans to open a grocery store in Argyle.

Bayrhoffer said she purchased the 6,400-square-foot building that previously housed Rossing Fine Foods grocery store for $84,000 at an auction in January.

Bayrhoffer hopes to open the store around May 1. It will be named after her grandmother Christine Belle Elliott and called Belle's Argyle Grocery.

A Monroe High School and University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate, Bayrhoffer has lived in California for the past 30 years. She owns Bungalow Bay, a clothing store in Long Beach.
