MONROE — The Monroe Tuesday Noon Optimist Club recently held a photography contest for all Green County youth in grades 6-8. Interested students were asked to submit an original photograph taken within the last 12 months that illustrated a verse of “The Optimist Creed”.

The photos were judged on how well the photo illustrated the verse from the creed, overall presentation/matting, quality of the photo, along with creativeness and inspirational impact.

Cash prizes and awards were presented at a ceremony held on May 21 at the Bank of New Glarus in Monroe. 

The 2024 winners are: 

●  Adelynn Monson, Albany — first place, $100

●  Braylin Cleary, Monroe — second place, $75

●  John Morales, Monroe — tied for third place, $35

●  Jacklyn Kubly, Monroe — tied for third place, $35
