MONROE — This summer, Kennedy Dahmen from Monroe, WI will join outstanding students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career oriented development experience, the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JNYLC), taking place this summer on the campus of Bentley University in Boston, MA.

JNYLC is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.

Kennedy is the daughter of Cory and Marcia Dahmen.  Throughout middle school, Kennedy has maintained a 4.0 GPA and has participated in a number of activities including as a WEB leader, member of Student Council and Yearbook Committee.  Through school, Kennedy has been a member of the Volleyball, Cross Country and Track teams.  She is actively engaged in choir and has advanced to state two years in a row for Solo and Ensemble.  Kennedy has enjoyed acting in both the Middle School plays and musicals as well as through the Monroe Theatre Guild.  Outside of school, Kennedy works part time at Heartland Graphics and plays softball with the Queen of Diamonds. Kennedy dreams of attending YALE University and earning a degree in elementary education. She also hopes to always be a performer whether it is singing or acting.

“I am excited for Kennedy to meet, work, and collaborate with fellow high-aspiring students from other cities and schools,” said Dr. Jan Sikorsky, Vice President, Education for Envision. “ JNYLC is a wonderful opportunity for ambitious young students to explore their interests outside the classroom and discover how to innovate and think creatively through hands-on immersive learning. Our students are challenged with real-world simulations and problems, working together to develop unique solutions and projects to bring life to their studies and career interests.”
