Monroe: Academic Top 10 honored at banquet

MONROE - The Badger Conference held their 14th annual Academic Honors Banquet on Sunday, April 20, at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

The top 10 academically ranked students from each conference school were recognized. Each student received a plaque recognizing his or her academic accomplishments. The Badger Conference principals made the presentations. Mark Burandt attended representing Monroe schools in support of the scholars.

Michael Lorenz, former University of Wisconsin-Madison football player and current Lake Geneva Badger High School social studies teacher, spoke at the ceremony.

The academic top 10 students from Monroe who were honored were: Kathryn Amphlett, Amalia Becker, Seth Bovis, Lindsey Crubaugh, Blaise Geyer, Nicholas Hendrickson, Beth Hoesly, Chelsey Metcalf, Kayla Rackow and Priti Rana.

Monona Grove High School hosted the event.

Congratulations to the Academic Top Ten on their sizeable accomplishment! Your positive work ethics and love of learning have paid dividends.
