MONROE — A tribute to the legendary Everly Brothers kicks off Monroe Arts Center’s (MAC) 52nd Season with a performance Sept. 11 in the Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall.

“The Everly Set” features critically acclaimed musicians Sean Altman and Jack Skuller, playing hit songs by the Everly Brothers including “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” “All I Have To Do Is Dream,” and more. The Everlys’ sparkling vocal harmonies influenced The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, The Hollies, The Eagles, Peter Paul & Mary, and the Bee Gees. Altman and Skuller capture the Everly magic for a nostalgic concert with modern vocals.

Altman co-founded and led the pioneering vocal group Rockapella through its heyday on the Emmy-winning PBS series Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, for which he co-wrote the famous theme song. His original songs have been featured on many shows including Saturday Night Live, NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, and Schoolhouse Rock.

Skuller is a former Disney recording artist and has been featured on the Disney Channel, the Grammy Foundation, and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls. He won the Songwriters Hall of Fame Buddy Holly Prize and continues to record original music with a rockabilly-meets-rock n’ roll twist.

In addition to their main stage show, Altman and Skuller will host a master class for 25 Green County high school choral students. The students will join Altman and Skuller on stage for one number during the evening show.
