Monroe Sons of Norway to meet April 13

MONROE — The Monroe Sons of Norway Lodge will meet April 13 at 6:15 p.m. at the west Fire Station meeting in Monroe.

Monroe foreign exchange students will present the program telling about their home countries and their experiences living in Monroe. Guests are welcome.


Clean Waters Field Day April 17

MONROE — The Green County Clean Waters’ producer- led watershed group will hold a Field Day from 10-1 p.m. on April 17. The event will show various cover crop and field demos.

They will starting at Andy Beach’s farm on Bethel Road, south of Marvin Road. Next, the event will head to Scott Timm’s at W6010 Melvin Road, where they will also be having lunch.

The final scheduled stop will be to Dillon Weckerly’s at W6188 Iliff Road, and if time allows, a bonus stop will be at Steve Holcomb’s. Sideby- sides are welcome.

GCGS to hold Victorian Funeral presentation

MONROE — The Green County Genealogical Society and the Green County Historical Society will hold a Victorian Funeral presentation on April 22.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 18 & 8 Event Center, 1802 8th Street, Monroe. Lunch is included.

Learn how the death rituals of the Victorian Era have impacted our current traditions. Mortuary and embalming equipment of the era will be displayed.

Steve Person will be The Victorian Undertaker. Neale Tollakson will be the Cemetery Memorials.
