'Cheese is our culture' is new Cheese Center slogan
MONROE - The National Historic Cheesemaking Center's board and membership last week chose a new slogan they hope will catch the public's attention and brand the organization's goals and achievements.
"'Cheese is our culture' says what we're all about," said board member MaryAnn Hanna. "We've been looking for a 'brand' for quite a while, one that will tell people in four short words what the center and museum here, not to mention Green County, are all about."
In addition to acting as an information source for visitors and area residents, the center also contains a museum that chronicles the history of cheesemaking in the area that spans more than 100 years.
The center began its 18th season on April 1 and will be open through the end of October from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. It is located on the corner of Wisconsin 69 and 21st Street in a restored railroad depot.
