In our youth, we were taught the importance of the great democracy we have, through school, Scouts, 4-H, FFA and other youth organizations. Remember, the operational structure of government is only a strong as the officials we elect to each seat.
We all lead very busy lives with our work, families, recreation and other responsibilities we may have. It can be difficult to find time for additional commitments. However, in order to have a good operating government system, we need good citizens to strengthen our governmental operations by becoming an elected official. If you have an understanding of government, are knowledgeable in business operations, and have organizational skills, do your civic duty by running for an elected position in our community.
Be the type of citizen that assumes the responsibility, time and devotion it takes to serve as an elected official for a few years. You will find the personal satisfaction can be highly rewarding when you serve your community.
