Walker named first team

Times file photo The Badger South recently released the all-conference teams. Monroe had six players honored this season. Monroe senior Nick Walker (75) received first team all-conference as a defensive lineman. Walker had 56 tackles and three sacks this year. Monroe senior Dylan Schwitz also was named honorable mention all-conference as a linebacker.
MONROE - The Monroe football team had six players receive Southern Badger All-Conference honors.

Monroe senior Nick Walker was a unanimous first team all-conference selection as a defensive lineman. It's the second straight year that Walker was named first team all-conference. Walker had 56 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks.

The Cheesemakers had three second team all-conference players including junior running back Jon Becker, senior linebacker Cameron Wahl and senior offensive tackle Alex Beaver.

Becker came on strong at the end of the season rushing for 471 yards in the last four games. Wahl was averaging nearly 14 tackles a game before he suffered a broken leg against Monona Grove. Beaver helped lead the Cheesemakers' single wing offensive attack down the stretch that racked up 1,250 yards (312.5 yards per game) the final four games.

Monroe senior Dylan Schwitz was named honorable mention all-conference as a linebacker and senior Bryan Tordoff was honorable mention all-conference at wide receiver.
