MONROE - Eight Mat Rats competed in the Oregon Regional qualifier Saturday. The top two finishers in each bracket move on to the Youth State Tournament this weekend at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
Placing first in their brackets and moving on to state are Patrick Rielly in the 2001-02 bracket at 145 pounds; Bodie Minder in the 2001-02 bracket at 190 pounds; and Jack Dubach in the 2005-06 bracket at 81 pounds.
Placing third in their brackets were alternates Garret Voegeli in the 2003-04 bracket at 70 pounds and Brady Schuh in the 2003-04 bracket at 85 pounds.
Also wrestling, but not placing, were Cole Meighan in the 2007-08 bracket at 57 pounds; Payton Weckerly in the 2007-08 bracket at 69 pounds; and Christian Schuh in the 2005-06 bracket at 72 pounds.
