BELLEVILLE - The Sugar River wrestling team had four pins en route to a 43-30 win over Waterloo Thursday night.
Sugar River sophomore Jessica Byrne (120) pinned Jack Bergan in 3 minutes, 24 seconds. Senior Brooks Hendrickson (152) pinned Mike Schey in 2:25 and Kody Popenfus (106) pinned Liz Springer in 52 seconds. Senior Dylan Luchsinger (182) pinned Cody Chirstian in 1:52.
Junior Taylor Chirsten (113) defeated Boe Renforth 9-2. Sophomore Young-Chul Vetterli (145) beat Josh Tomaszewski in a technical fall 17-2. Sugar River's Andrew Fink (160) also won by technical fall over Evan Pratt 17-0.
