BRODHEAD - Casey Klossner homered for Monticello, which opened its boys baseball season with a 12-10 win over the Brodhead on Friday, April 3.

The Ponies scored seven runs in the second inning and led 11-6 after three innings.

Brandon Holz pitched 6 1/3 innings for Monticello, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits, while striking out seven and walking just one.

Brodhead had three players with multiple hits.
