SOUTH WAYNE - Sophomore forward Conner Meyer tied a career-high with 27 points and helped lift the Black Hawk boys basketball team over Juda 67-56 Thursday in Six Rivers East Conference action.
Black Hawk led 8-6 and then went on a 15-0 run in the first half. The Warriors (3-1, 2-1) had a 23-21 advantage by halftime.
Meyer had 10 points in the first half.
"He struggled shooting in the first half," Black Hawk coach Charlie Anderson said of Meyer. "In the second half he started to get his jumper to go and hit his free throws. We kind of ran our offense through him tonight, and he made the most of his opportunities."
Meyer was 3-for-4 from the free-throw line, all in the second half.
Junior C.J. Leuzinger scored 16 points and senior Josh Meier added 10 points for the Warriors. Leuzinger made two 3-pointers.
The Panthers (4-2, 2-2) got 16 points from senior Matt Schmitt and 14 from junior Keagen Haffele.
Pecatonica 82, Monticello 41
BLANCHARDVILLE - Senior A.J. Hendrickson poured in a career-high 41 points and the Vikings upended the Ponies in a Six Rivers East game.
The Vikings got off to a slow start, trailing 20-12 with about 9 minutes to play in the first half. But they turned up the intensity and opened a 34-22 lead by halftime.
Hendrickson had 21 points in the first half. He had three 3-pointers and was 6-for-8 from the free-throw line in the game.
Sophomore Colton Schraepfer added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, for Pecatonica (7-1, 2-0). Senior Kole Kent chipped in 10 points.
Senior Zach Price led Monticello with 12 points, including two 3-pointers.
Barneveld 74, Albany 36
ALBANY - The Comets had no answers against the top-ranked team in the WisSports.net Division 5 coaches poll.
Albany fell behind 32-2 and then trailed 41-15 at halftime.
Senior Brock Gilkes paced Albany (4-2, 1-2 Six Rivers East) with 17 points, including three 3-pointers. He was 2-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Matt Zouski led the Golden Eagles with 23 points, including three 3-pointers.
McFarland 84, Brodhead 52
MCFARLAND - Brodhead junior Justice Tway scored a team-high 14 points, but McFarland cruised past the Cardinals.
McFarland's Sam Hanson scored a game-high 20 points. The Spartans hit 15 three-pointers en route to the victory.
Junior Parker Johnson added 13 points for Brodhead (2-4, 1-3 Rock Valley South).
