On Sunday, Jan. 26, the Green County YMCA Mat Rats hosted their annual youth wrestling tournament at the Monroe High School. Even with impending weather, almost 300 youth wrestlers ranging in ages from kindergarten to eighth grade participated in this folk-style, round-robin event.

More than 30 local teams were represented. The Brodhead Youth Wrestling Club took home first-place honors. Rounding out the top five were Lena LAW, Mount Horeb-Barneveld, Sugar River and the YMCA Mat Rats.
