NEW GLARUS — The Raiders took care of business at the 19th annual Swiss Kick on May 15. Sugar River defeated Dodgeville-Mineral Point 2-0, while Delavan-Darien upended Baraboo 4-3 in the other game.
Anya Brenkman scored just 3:11 into the game to put the Raiders ahead. Libby McLean added another goal at the 50:01 mark in the second half off a pass from Brenkman.
Morgan Thompson didn’t face a shot on goal in net, with backup Skyler Beyer saved the lone shot she faced. Sugar River out-shot DMP 10-1.
The Raiders enter this week with a one-game lead on Lodi in the Capitol Conference standings. The two were set to play May 17, with the winner likely taking the league crown for the season.
