Madison Metro shuts out Fury

MADISON — The Madison Metro Lynx stand alone at the top of the Badger Conference with their 6-0 win over the Rock County Fury on Tuesday, Dec. 20.

Emma Stebbeds recorded a hat trick in the first period, scoring her first goal 51 seconds into the game. She then scored in the seventh and ninth minute.

The Lynx scored once in the second period with a short-handed, unassisted goal from Jamie Stenmetz.

Stebbeds added to her total with a short-handed goal in the third. Grace Bonnell, who had three prior assists, scored her own goal to cap the game.

Bonnell and Stebbeds led Madison with four points each, followed by Steinmetz with two. Sophie Wilde, Leah Grudzinski, Ella Cook and Izzy Goldschmidt each had one.

The Fury had just nine shots on goal, while the Lynx had 56. Jillian Traver stopped 50 of those shots for a .896 save percentage. Addie Armstrong and Addy Buzzell split time in net for Madison, neither letting up a goal.
