DARLINGTON — The Cuba City girls basketball team made solid halftime adjustments and earned a 12-point victory over Darlington, Friday, Dec. 13.
Darlington had gone into halftime with a 20-19 lead. The Cubans outscored the Redbirds 28-15 in the second half.
Madison Calvert scored a game-high 17 points for Cuba City. Teammate Kiera Holzemer scored 13, had seven rebounds and four steals.
Allison Thompson led Darlington (2-4 overall) with nine points, 10 rebounds and two steals.
Albany 62, Barneveld 44
The Albany girls basketball team had three players in double-digit scoring in a 62-44 win over Barneveld, Thursday, Dec. 12.
Payton Wachholz led the Comets (4-2 overall) with 16 followed by Kaiya Zurfluh 14 and Brianna Dahl 13.
Albany led 33-21 at halftime and outscored the Golden Eagles (1-4 overall) 29-23 to the buzzer.
Gracie Freitag led Albany with 13 rebounds while Zurfluh had 12. Wachholz had six assists while Dahl and Lily Brewer each had five. Brewer had five steals.
Argyle 39, Monticello 21
Victoria Lantz scored 15 points and Grace Ganshert and McKenzee Granberg each tallied 10 as the Orioles defeated the Ponies by 18, Thursday, Dec. 12.
Lantz added 10 rebounds and Granberg had 11 steals for Argyle (5-2 overall).
Harley Disch had 13 points to lead Monticello (4-3 overall).
Pecatonica 54, Juda 45
What was a 26-24 Juda lead at halftime ended up being a 9-point Pecatonica win, Thursday, Dec. 12.
The Vikings (2-5 overall) got 14 points each from Tessa Green and Lexi Peterson while Chloe Schraepfer added 12. Juda fell to 1-3 with the loss.
